The availability of gluten free substitute ingredients continue to grow. Creating Gluten Free deserts in particular have become much easier, except when guests are also dairy intolerant.
This recipe is a gluten and dairy free version of mom's Dutch Apple Cake with Lemon Sauce above. Desert is every bit as good as mom's original. Her rich scone dough is substituted with dough made with Namaste brand gluten, dairy and nut free Muffin & Scone Mix. I made changes to their suggested add-ins to try and simulate mom's recipe.
